The research model of this study is based on theory of planned behaviour postulates that SME owner-manager intentions are determined by financial knowledge or literacy, perceived risk, attitude, religious beliefs, subjective norms, self-efficacy and perceived behavioural control. The study uses quantitative survey and factor analysis methods. The results revealed that SMEs intention to adopt Islamic financial product is low which shows negative attitude of owner-managers towards Islamic finance in Pakistan.

Moreover, the study highlights that financial knowledge has strong impact on owner-managers attitude towards intention to adopt Islamic finance. Furthermore, SMEs owner-managers prefer financial products which are according to Islamic rules and principles, thus, religious beliefs also have strong influence on SMEs owner-manager behaviour.

Data collection was done through a structured questionnaire which was divided into two parts: first part comprises of demographic variables and second part contains 33 variables affecting financial decision of the respondents. Regression Analysis was performed to measure the significant impact of financial literacy level on financial decision of the respondents and found the statistically significant impact on the financial decision of the respondents.

The existing literature has mainly focused on the saving capacities of rural poor which is inadequate in explaining the saving behaviour. Building on the existing theories a more systematic view on savings motives and mechanisms preferred by this segment is presented in this research.

The results revealed that the poor do not save for a goal and the only motive which significantly increases the likelihood of saving is to reduce the need for credit. Creating a corpus for medical exigencies was a major motive for informal saving. Providing a basic sustenance financial foundation for children was found to be a major motive for saving and this probably is a new finding which needs further research.

This research has important implications for policymakers and financial professionals in formulating recommendations or developing financial, business plans. However, no empirical study has attempted to quantify the impact of female education on the Egyptian economy. This paper examines the effect of female education on economic growth in Egypt between , using time-series analysis.

Cointegration test and error correction model are utilised to examine long-run relationship and short-run granger causality between female verses male education and economic growth. Results suggest that the expansion of female education does not granger cause economic growth in the short-run. The remarkable finding of the study is that female education has a significant positive impact on economic growth in the long-run even more pronounced than that of male education, labour, and capital.

What motivates social entrepreneurs to be active in promoting sustainable social services in shrinking rural regions? A case study of Greater Twente. Policy-makers are seeking to stimulate social entrepreneurs but there is no consensus as to what motivates social entrepreneurs. This paper explores the issue of social entrepreneur motivation proposing a four-fold motivational framework, pragmatic, activism, realism and idealism. Drawing on a case study of social entrepreneurship in a declining rural region in the East of the Netherlands, we identify nine motivation narratives by which social entrepreneurs explain their decision-making.

We use these nine narratives to refine this motivation typology as the basis for a more systematic exploration of the motivations of social entrepreneurship. We argue that policy-makers could use this framework to better tailor support instruments to these diverse motivations to better harness social entrepreneurship to address rural shrinkage.
